Suite 518/520, Monday morning

Bel was getting ready for the road trip to pick up Marie. He was angry that he couldn't just shimmer to the train station and pick her up. Faster, safer, but he couldn't do that anymore. It didn't add to the helplessness he was feeling.

Skipping out of Pop Culture and avoiding Marty, however? That he could deal with.

"Thanks," Bel said. "And I really mean that. I already got a second chance here...I didn't expect to get a third."

"Yeah well..." Cameron grimaced. "Don't blow it. I'm still not happy with any of this, but you're the one who has to live with it. And I promise you, you won't like me if you risk anyone again." Veronica might be the first person on his mind, but she definitely wasn't the only one.

"Don't worry," Bel said, picking up on Cameron's train of thought. "Veronica and I had, uh, issues in the past, but we're cool now. Really. Last thing I'd want to see if her get hurt."

'Issues' was a rather interesting choice of words for trying to kill someone, but Veronica had said pretty much the same thing.

"Glad to see that we're on the same page about that much," he said and tiredly scrubbed a hand across his face. "I've got a class in less than half an hour so I need to go get ready. I trust you to let me know when you've come up with more of a plan." It really wasn't a question.

Bel nodded. "I will," he promised. "If I can figure out something, I'll definitely let you know."

"Later," Bel said, then picked up his jacket. He and Phoebe had to get moving if they wanted to make it to the causeway in time for the trip.
