Suite 518/520, Sunday late afternoon/evening

Bel returned to his room after talking to Phale and made a couple phone calls. He didn't like the idea of bringing people with him into the Underworld, but he didn't want Phoebe to kill him, either. Hopefully everything would go smoothly and he could find his father's soul and finally lay him to rest.

He couldn't help but think of Schrodinger's offer from last night during his visit to the common room. Get his powers back? Tempting, oh so very tempting.

In the meantime, there were finals to study for. Woe.

Cameron blinked. "He'd just use Danger Shop, no? We don't have two evil teachers?"

"I guess so," Bel said. "But he was probably tempted. He knows a word that makes me...made me go into demon form, and he wasn't afraid to use it on me." He shrugged again. "I mean, he wasn't trying to kill me or anything, but the whole demon thing made him twitchy about me."

"Figured there'd be a catch," Bel said. "What is it?"

"Well, I don't know what the Doc is going to charge for it. But there are some weakness that come along with the powers. You'll want to stock up on sunblock. Be careful around silver. I'd also talk about churches, but I don't think that was ever an issue for you."

"...sunblock?" Bel repeated. "As in, stay out of the sun or else?"

"You won't blow up," Schrodinger said. "But you'll learn to dislike it."

"That's..." Cameron frowned. "I'm scared of sounding like Blair."

"If you hug any of the demons while we're in the Underworld I'm telling Veronica," Bel dead-panned.

Cameron laughed. "I think that might blow our cover."

"Like a vampire?" Bel said, almost a squeak, but not quite.

Schrodinger smiled. "That is the general idea."

Bel rubbed the back of his neck. "I am so not mentioning this trip to Blair. He'd want to come along, and it would just be all sorts of bad."

"No. No." Bel flailed just a little.

"Blair is not really made to play demon," Cameron agreed.

"Not down with the vampire idea? The other option is still open."

Bel nodded. "Demons do not bounce."

"I can't be a vampire," Bel said. Tempting as it was.

"Phoebe would kill me. Angel would kill me. Plus there's the whole losing the soul thing."

"No, it's not particularly how I've ever envisioned them either," Cameron sighed.

"I gotta remember to tell Phoebe and Isabel to dress trashy," Bel mused. "Think they're gonna kill me?"

Schrodinger shook his head. "No, no, no. Your soul you keep. I've heard that some vampires lose souls, but not the way we know how to do it. And who's Angel?"

"And suddenly I'm even more grateful Veronica isn't coming along," Cameron blurted out.

"I don't know, she's got a few outfits for the job," Bel said without thinking.

"Angel's my unrequited crush best friend," Bel said. "He graduated last year. He's a vampire, but he got cursed with a soul. So he's on the good guys' side."
