Blair looked around worriedly and frowned. Nobody was even making an attempt to communicate. Taking a step forward, Blair raised his hands and gave a little wave to the nearest tongue. "Hi! We're just passing through to pick up a friend. Nobody wants to hurt you!"

He wasn't sure if it would help, but he stuck out his tongue and wagged it in what he hoped was a cheerful greeting.
