Hyperion, Saturday Night

Bel didn't get sick often, especially since he picked up the nifty insta-healing powers in the Wastelands. But there were a few things that could still knock him off his feet, such as, unfortunately, the common cold. And said cold turned Bel into a whiny, cranky, miserable patient indeed.

Phoebe had gone to the store to buy a bottle of medicine for him. It was the most vile thing he had ever tasted, and living in the Underworld, he had tasted a lot of vile things. But he began to feel a little better, so he figured that more of a good thing was a better thing and chugged the whole bottle.

This could prove to be a biiiiig mistake.

Especially because his cell phone was in easy reach.

Parker started scrambling for her voice recorder. Snickering. Hey, if she was woken up at 3am, she was allowed. Or any other time, but especially at 3am.

"Tell me, Bel. Tell me how that makes you feel."

Parker had to hold the phone and the recorder away from her so the cackling didn't drown out Bel. "Ha! Ahem. I mean, I'm so glad for you, Bel. Really. I mean that. Are you going to tell everyone that?"

Bel nodded. "I love the mountains, I love the clear blue sky. I love big bridges, I love when great whites fly. I love the whole world, and all its sights and sounds. Boom de yada, boom de yada, boom de yada, boom de yada."

Recording this was likely to get her in trouble with someone, somewhere down the line, but if Parker had ever cared about that she'd never have gotten a lot of things accomplished in high school.

"Hey Bel? Think you can say hi to the mother ship for me? And tell whoever gave you the happy pills a great big thank you?"

Zero might like mixing this to a soundtrack, if she got bored. Oh yes.
