Outside the Echolls House

Belthazor shimmered away from the wreckage of the Echolls House with only one thought on his mind. He had to get as far from Marty as he could before he passed out. His demon side was resistant to the drug contained in the darts Marty had shot him with, but his human side was not, and the demon wasn't strong enough to overcome it, only slow it down.

He made it to the street before he fell out of the shimmer. School was too far away for him to get to, and there might be someone waiting for him there, anyway. The Hotel was close by, but Phoebe and Crowley were there. But if he picked an empty room, maybe they wouldn't realize he was there.

He could hear Marty moving, calling out from the house's wreckage. Gathering his remaining strength, he concentrated on the Hotel and the suite he and Phoebe had shared New Year's Eve, hoping it would be empty.

It was. He fell out of the shimmer, almost crashing into the wall, then slumped to the floor, unable to even make it to the bed before he passed out.

He arrived at the stroke of midnight, and could tell immediately things were not as they should be. People had been here, creating mischeif...and the boy was here. The Demon could smell him. All he really wanted to do was go up to his room and prepare for the morning, but he couldn't let this go.

Riding the elevator up, he opened the door with a wave of his hand and stared at Belthazor laying on the floor. A cruel grin and a wicked tone were his constant companions with the boy...

"Poor pitiful pearl...let Crowley help you."
