Even though his workshop wasn't until the afternoon, Bel got up early to get ready to shimmer Isabel to L.A.

No, he wasn't taking extra care in his appearance. Not at all.

He should probably tell Phoebe. Leaving a note that said "Gone to see Angel, back soon" might not go over well, considering.

Yeah, the note probably would be a very bad idea as he might come back to find his things had had a burial at sea.

Feeling him move around, Phoebe opened one eye to see what was going on.

"Cole?" she murmured sleepily.

Cole moved to the bedside and sat down next to her. "Morning, sweetheart," he said, kissing her gently.

She curled an arm around him and kissed him back. "Too early."

"I need to play taxi cab," he said, laying his upper body down beside her. "I won't be gone long."

She snuggled. "Not a taxi." she said. "Promise you'll be back soon?"

"I promise," he said. "I just gotta shimmer Isabel to L.A...."

Phoebe nodded against him. "Love you."

Cole was relieved that Phoebe wasn't upset. Of course, he hadn't specifically mentioned Angel yet. "Love you, too, sweetheart," he said, giving her another kiss. "Want me to tell Angel you said hello?"

She nodded against him and murmured something as she didn't really trust herself to speak right now. She did hug him to her though.

"I won't be long," he assured her again. "Just a quick in and out."

A quickie?

Phoebe smiled. "I know. I love you and I'll see you when you get back?"

"The bed won't even have time to get cold," he promised.

"I'm going to hold you to that," she nodded.

He chuckled and clicked his tongue at Seraphim and Valkyrie so that they jumped into bed and curled next to Phoebe. Cole kissed her one last time, then drew back from the bed. "Go back to sleep, love," he said. "I'll be back soon."

Phoebe smiled and nodded, closing her eyes as the warmth from the cats surrounded her. "Love you, Cole."

Cole stayed beside her for a long moment as she drifted back off to sleep, then rose from the bed and headed downstairs to Isabel's room.
