Halls of Fandom High, Friday Night

Bel wandered aimlessly through the halls, avoiding...everyone. Phoebe wanted her grandmother and oldest sister to meet him this weekend, and he still wasn't so sure about that. And he really didn't want to see all the happy reunions of parents and children that other people were having. Jealousy, he knew. After all, he didn't have a loving mother or father who wanted to see him. His father was dead, his mother was (thankfully) dead now, and the rest of the Underworld thought he was dead.

He sighed, his hands stuffed in his pockets, his head down as he rounded a random corner.

Raynor took that opportunity to punch Bel hard in the face. "I'm not taking no for an answer, Belthazor."

He then pushed him down onto the floor, standing over him threateninly. "You're evil. Best you accept that now. Make it easier on yourself."

Wilson was walking backwards, which meant he didn't immediately see the situation as he and Phale came upon it.

"Then you take the gerbil and..."

Something in his lover's shift of expression caused him to stop in mid sentence and turn around to see what Phale was looking at over his shoulder.

"Bel!" Wilson said immediately and with the common sense that God gave a squirrel, the young doctor darted towards his young friend's side.

Luckily, Aziraphale had been around the young doctor long enough to know that was exactly what he'd do. So the angel headed in the direction of the man standing over Bel.

He had no idea who this man was, but he had a sneaking suspicion he wasn't going to like finding out.

"What the bloody hell is going on here!"

Raynor glanced over at Phale and groaned. "And now you have an angel to protect you?"

Instinctively, he conjured a fireball in the palm of his hand.

For Wilson the true challenge had always been trying to not do anything and as Phale so rightly was concerned about, the young doctor was down on his knees next to Bel.

"It's all right, Bel." He said calmly as if there wasn't a stranger standing overhead with a fireball in the palm of his hand.

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2006-10-21 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Narrowing his eyes at Raynor and the fireball, Aziraphale said in a low voice, "I don't know who you are, although I have a fairly good guess what you are. As we are currently standing in the middle of a high school, which I would not consider to be the appropriate place for this sort of behavior, I would strongly suggest that you step away from the young man and take yourself back to wherever it is that you came from."

His hand, hanging down by his side, twitched as if he was restraining himself from grabbing something.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_raynor/ 2006-10-21 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Raynor extinguished the fireball and nodded. "Then you will return to the Underworld with me."

Wilson looked into Bel's eyes and he gave his head a shake.

"No, Bel. He's not your father. You told me about your father." He said softly. "And no being has the right to own another, no matter what their relation."

Standing up, Wilson shifted his stance so that he was between Bel and Raynor and in a tone that was deadly calm, he said.

"Bel made his choice and it has nothing to do with you. You'll leave, alone and now."

Maybe it was foolish of him to do such a thing in the face of an obvious demon but Wilson had promised Bel, he wouldn't let him win and as demon attacks went, Raynor's so far, was fairly tame.

Seriously, Aziraphale had to refrain from facepalming. Of course Wilson would put himself into the absolute worst possible position.

Also, the angel might have been just a little disappointed that Raynor had extinguished the fireball. Not that he was looking to have a fight right there in the hallway, of course.

"James is right, Belthazor. Being your father doesn't give him any rights concerning you at all. It certainly doesn't give him the right to 'do' anything to you." Aziraphale stepped closer, edging toward working himself into a position where he could defend an attack on Wilson and Bel.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_raynor/ 2006-10-21 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Raynor knew this wasn't the place for a fight. He glanced at the angel and the mortal and then back at Belthazor. "This isn't over. We will be discussing this further."

"I'll be sure to let everyone know you're...well," he added with a smirk before shimmering out.

Looking from the empty spot where Raynor had just been standing, to Aziraphale, then down to Bel, Wilson's face took on a practical sort of hardness, Phale had seen up in the city.

"I think we should have killed him. And by we, I guess I mean you."

Exhaling, he pushed his hand through his dark hair and then hunkered back down on his heels in front of Bel.

"You should let me take a look at those." He said softly.

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2006-10-21 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Aziraphale pursed his lips and nodded, feeling pretty much the same way. Unfortunately, he couldn't just...go around killing people during Parents Weekend. The administration probably frowned on that sort of thing.

"You don't owe him anything, Belthazor," he said softly. "You do know that, don't you? I know it's hard for you, to go against the way you were raised. But you're not only half demon, you're also half human. And that means you have Free Will. You decide how you want to act, how you want to live. Not him. Nor anyone else."

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2006-10-21 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
"They are rather relentless that way." Wilson was forced to admit, remembering the week back in the city, running every three hours, over and over again.

"Bel, is Phoebe at your suite for you to stay with tonight or is she visiting with her family?"

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2006-10-21 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
"You have people who can help you here, Belthazor," Aziraphale replied softly. "People who will help you here."

He gave the young man a little smile, and then looked up and down the hallway, as if standing guard while Wilson saw to Bel's injuries. Which, in fact, was exactly what he was doing.
