After spending time in the common room and the clinic visiting Marie and Zuko, Bel returned to his room. Phoebe wasn't there, which meant thus far he'd managed to avoid meeting any members of her family. Excellent.

"So you used to kill witches then?" Prue resisted the urge to glare.

Shit. She had forgotten to mention what demon he was.

"Prue... remember, because of him, no funeral services for your sister."

This... could get touchy.

"Yeah, but Phoebe changed me," Bel said. "I don't do that kind of stuff anymore." And hopefully Raynor wouldn't be able to make him do it again.

Prue norrowed her eyes. "It could all be just an act."

"He would never hurt me."

"Right," Bel said. "I'm reformed now."

"I suppose saving my sister is sort of proof of that." Prue was still skeptical, though.

"It's not abut me, Prue," Phoebe said shaking her head. "Cole is a good person."

"I'm half-human," Bel offered up. "I have a soul."

Prue looked at Phoebe. "You're my sister, so it is about you. To me it is. I just want to make sure he won't betray you."

"Prue... he knows what I am... has from the time my powers manifested and I picked up on his emotions. He could have killed me at any time and instead, he chose to love me and keep me safe. He attacked his own mother when she kidnappped me to try to get him to kill me."

Maybe she shouldn't have mentioned that part? But she was trying to get Prue to see how much they had been through together and how much Cole had changed.

"I'm a wanted man in the Underworld," Bel said. "They want me dead for betraying them and failing to fulfill my mission."

"Does this mean demons will be after you all the time? What if they try to use Phoebe to get to you?" Prue was glaring now.

Phoebe flailed a little.

"Prue... aren't I already a target for demons?"

She may not be helping.

"My mother tried it and look where it got her," Bel growled.

"Considering you're dating one? Seems you're an even bigger target," Prue pointed out to Phoebe.

"He killed his mother to save me," Phoebe argued. "And that would be like saying if you dated Andy then you'd be a target for guys in his line of work who hated him."

"I'm not gonna let anybody, demon or not, hurt her," Bel insisted, glaring at Prue.

"How do you intend to protect her? Please enlighten me?" Prue said, glaring right back.

"I'd do whatever I have to do," Bel said. "I can take care of her a lot better than you."

If glares actually could kill, he'd probably be vanquished by now. "I'm sure I can protect her from you."

"I don't need protection from him!"

"Yeah," Bel said, giving Prue a dirty look. "She doesn't need protection from me, and there'd be nothing you could do anyway."
