Suite 518/520, Sunday late afternoon/evening

Bel returned to his room after talking to Phale and made a couple phone calls. He didn't like the idea of bringing people with him into the Underworld, but he didn't want Phoebe to kill him, either. Hopefully everything would go smoothly and he could find his father's soul and finally lay him to rest.

He couldn't help but think of Schrodinger's offer from last night during his visit to the common room. Get his powers back? Tempting, oh so very tempting.

In the meantime, there were finals to study for. Woe.

"Yeah, but it requires conscious thought," Bel said. "They'd have no reason to try to sense me, and if you're with me, they won't try to sense you. Too many other demons around anyway."

Cameron nodded and decided he needed to work on his poker face. "So uh... how does one... act demon-y?"

"Dress in all black," Bel said. "Leather if you've got it. Just act tough, growl at anyone who gives you any crap. Don't get intimidated, demons love to attack weaknesses."

"Right. I've got leather pants and a jacket," he said.

Bel nodded. "That'll do," Bel said. "You just gotta look and act tough. There's no real dress code, but basic black and leather usually does it."

"I can do that," Cameron assured him. "So not to be a pessimist, but I've got a girlfriend breathing down my neck... Do we have a plan B? What if they find out we're bluffing?"

"Then it may come to a fight," Bel admitted reluctantly. "You can bring a gun, it may slow a demon down for a minute, but this would be better." He walked into his bedroom and returned bearing two athames and handed one to Cameron. "Here," he said. "These are demon steel. They do serious damage to demons. Can you use it?"

Cameron studied the athame, running a finger along the edge. "I've only ever fought with swords," he admitted.

"It's just a little more up close and personal," Bel said. "But get in a good shot, and it'll kill a demon outright. Just remember to jump back so you don't get burned when they go up in flames."

"They go up in flames? Cool," Cameron grinned. "Okay, I might head down to the salle and practice a bit tomorrow. Any particular soft spots or just the basic ones?"

"The basics work pretty well," Bel said. "Demon physiology is lot like human, only they bleed green."

"That's... not so much cool as it is disgusting," Cameron nodded. "Okay. So Tuesday after classes we meet up where?"

"Phale and Wilson's apartment," Bel said. "But we can meet up in the lobby and all go over together."

Cameron nodded. "Lobby's probably a good idea," he took a breath. "At least we won't get bored studying."

Bel winced a little. "My Hunting final is Wednesday," he said. "But it's all about trapping a demon, which shouldn't be too hard. I mean, from personal knowledge."

"It's almost like practising," Cameron tried to lighten the mood a bit.

Bel smirked a little. "Could bag one of my ex-brothers and bring him back to class."

"That's one way to impress the teacher," Cameron chuckled.

"Might get him over the disappointment of not having me for the other students to practice on," Bel added.

Cameron frowned a bit. "I hope that's not the case."

Bel shrugged. "The final was to trap a demon, and I'm the only demon...er, was the only demon...in the class," he said. "So maybe I was a little paranoid."

Cameron blinked. "He'd just use Danger Shop, no? We don't have two evil teachers?"

"I guess so," Bel said. "But he was probably tempted. He knows a word that makes me...made me go into demon form, and he wasn't afraid to use it on me." He shrugged again. "I mean, he wasn't trying to kill me or anything, but the whole demon thing made him twitchy about me."

"That's..." Cameron frowned. "I'm scared of sounding like Blair."

"If you hug any of the demons while we're in the Underworld I'm telling Veronica," Bel dead-panned.
