demonbelthazorWhile Belthazor was in his room, packing up some things to move down the hall, a rolled parchment appeared in a small burst of flame and dropped on to the bed. He hesitated, then sighed, picked up the parchment and unrolled it.

I am surprised by your failure to inform me of the upcoming "Parents Weekend" at your new school. I can only assume that you have been so diligently studying that it slipped your mind. The school, however, saw fit to send out a notice about it, so I will be coming to see you and learn the truth of your progress. Your mother may choose to accompany me as well if I can reach her in time.
Your reports from the school have been sporadic and lacking in content. You were sent there to learn to live among humans, not to lose the discipline that I have taught you. I understand that it is a very different environment from the Brotherhood, but that is no excuse for neglecting your duties. If you have found female companionship, that is permissible, so long as it does not interfere with your mission. Never forget who you are -- what you are.
I will see you in a week's time. I look forward to meeting the people you associate with at the school. And don't try to hide anything from me, Belthazor. You never could.

He ran over his classes in his head. Okay, Biology, barely passing. He was doing well in Manipulation, Myth, and Magic; Sociology of Deviance; and Arthurian Tradition. World History, Gov I, and Advanced Negotiations were just barely okay. Ethics had just started. Hardly the stellar performance Raynor wanted.
As for associates, well, two big problems there. Raynor would not take well the fact that he wasBFF having subtext with friends with a vampire. Then there was Phoebe. No way in hell was he letting Raynor -- or his mother -- meet her.
Fuck. This was not going to be fun.
