Belthazor relaxed on the sunny beach of Maui, Phoebe stretched out contentedly beside him, soaking in the sun to drive the last of her flu away. They'd finally gotten away from the snow and the school to spend a night and a day in the warmth of Hawaii. This time was mostly for Phoebe's benefit, for while his body rested, his mind was active, formulating plans about the next steps he needed to take.
After his encounter with Crowley and Aziraphale a few nights before, Belthazor felt more confident than he had in days. Everything had become so clear. Enough of this running around in circles, acting on impulse and instinct. That sort of crude behavior was beneath him. He was capable of so much more.
Reliance on brute force had only earned him humiliation at the hands of Crowley and Angel. No more. From now on he would get everything he deserved. He just had to be patient. Creative. Cunning. And the irony that he would use what Angelus had tried to teach him against his souled self did not escape him.
He'd always viewed his human blood as a weakness, something to be ashamed of. Now he realized the truth. He was special; he was unique. He wasn't supposed to exist, but he did. His mother, Raynor, even the Source -- none of them had dared destroy him. And one by one, each of them would fall before him. All the power he ever wanted would be his. He would rule the Underworld, with Phoebe as his Queen. The might of the Underworld would be the strongest it had ever been, manipulating the mortal world like never before.
But first he would take care of things at school. Tara. Veronica Mars. Angel, of course, but ridding him of his soul was still the goal for him. Belthazor planned on speaking with Darla and Dru at the earliest opportunity, and he already had a few ideas of his own. He'd taken a quick shimmer to the Underworld to gather a few things he'd need. He may not be as powerful with magic as the Charmed Ones, but he had respectable sorcery skills himself. And he was more than eager to begin to show everyone just how he should not be underestimated.
