Cole didn't linger after Sociology; he headed immediately for the attic, pacing as he waited for Phoebe. The demonic kittens were curled on the couch, watching him through half-closed eyes. The contract Phoebe had signed with Crowley lay on the coffee table in front of the couch. He'd destroy it in front of her and let her be done with this nonsense about marrying Crowley.

"I did do it for you," she said softly. "I didn't know things were going to go the way they have. I didn't know it was a marriage contract when I signed it. I didn't ask, I just wanted you safe." She shook her head. "And now, he may be the only one to help me protect those I love if you succeed, Cole."

"What about protecting me, Phoebe? What about protecting me from the Source?" he snapped. "Do you want to watch me die?"

"You know I don't want to watch you die! You know I don't want anything to happen to you, damn it! If you bring that bastard back, I'm going to ahve to choose between protecting you and protecting Piper and Paige!!"
