Koala Cabin, Alcove A3, Early Morning

Bel was tired. And sore.

Last night, he'd been awaken from a sound sleep by John Connor screaming on the other side of the cabin. He'd gone over to see what the hell was going on, and John had attacked him. Of course he'd defended himself. But then when John attacked Lana and then Maia, he'd become enraged, lost control over his temper, and come close to killing John. If John had hurt Phoebe, he probably would have killed him.

So he was decidedly emo about how easy it was to slip into demon form. He was stiff and sore. And he was pissy about getting detention for defending himself and the girls.

Staying in bed today seemed a good idea.

Phoebe sighed softly, curling into Cole, relaxing slightly at the knowledge that he was there.

"How are you feeling?" Cole asked softly.

"Does extremely stiff from tension and emotions and exhaustion count as a feeling?" She opened one eye. "You were the one fighting to keep us safe. How are you feeling?"

"Sore," he admitted. He wasn't sure if he wanted to talk about how easily it was to lose control, though.

Phoebe sighed quietly, partially worried about him and partially worried about what had happened last night.

"Talk to me?"

[demonbelthazor]

"About what?" he said evasively.

[sensethevisions]

Phoebe might have sighed sadly, but it was hard to tell as she was curled against him. One more thing to add to the list of things bothering him that he wouldn't talk to her about.

"I heard some of the blows he landed. Are you sure he didn't hurt you... I mean physically."

"Nothing that won't heal, sweetheart," he assured her. "I've had plenty worse. I'll be fine."

Phoebe might have argued about that, but the truth was she didn't have the energy right now. She held him tightly to her.

"He was a little bit scary."

"Yeah, I still wonder what his deal was," Cole said. "He thought I was someone else, I guess."

Phoebe was quiet. "I wonder if he thought you were the things that he thinks kidnapped his mom..."

Cole blinked. "What kidnapped his mom?"

[sensethevisions]

"I don't know... we talked about it the night he and I sparred." She let out a breath. "But the things he was ranting about... he thought you were a cyborg and that he was protecting us... and you... from an evil machine.'

"I don't look like a machine," Cole protested.

[sensethevisions]

Phoebe nodded against him. "I know... but look at how long it took him to see it was me there that had tackled him. After that..." Her voice trailed off because she didn't want to remind Cole that John had kept moving her away from him. "I think he was caught in a nightmare... sort of like I was when I was attacked by Klea... but not that severe?"

"He'd better not do it again then," Cole said gruffly. "He seems like an okay kid but if he's going to be losing his mind every time I turn around...."

"They got hurt..."

[demonbelthazor]

"Lana and Maia?" Cole said. "Yeah...but they'll be okay."

[sensethevisions]

"They've never hurt anyone and yet... they get hurt last night when all they were trying to do was help."

[demonbelthazor]

"I know, sweetheart," Cole said. "I'm sorry."

[sensethevisions]

"Not your fault, Cole. You kept it from getting worse."

[demonbelthazor]

"Tried to, at least," he sighed.

[sensethevisions]

"You did succeed in that, love."

[demonbelthazor]

Cole sighed, snuggling closer to her.

"We got detention thanks to him," she grumped. "If I get kicked off of the squad because of this I will hurt him."
