Room 518/520, Wednesday Afternoon

With no workshops that day, Bel busied himself researching mermaids. Most of what he found on the web was just fluff. Reading a few demomic sites he still had access to, however, gave him the information he was looking for. The Sea Hag. Allegedly she was a demon with the power to transform mermaids into humans, but she would only do so for a price. Fine. He'd find her and pay it.

The only question was how to find her.

"She seems to be enjoying herself," Bel said. He shook his head. "Mermaids have cold hearts, cold like the ocean," he went on. "They don't feel human emotions. If she stays a mermaid too long...."

Cally eeped. "We gonna need to have an intervention?"

"Something like that," Bel sighed. "She wouldn't let me shimmer her home last night. I wanted to stick her in the bathtub until we could find a way to undo this."

"Oh, geeze," Cally said. "Yeah, sounds like we need to formulate a plan. Or. . . sounds like she wanted some time to enjoy being a fishy person before it was over."

"It's all my fault she's like this," Bel confessed.

"What? How?" Cally frowned. "Now who's being too hard on themself?"

"She cast a spell to open my mind to her," Bel said. "Because of...what I've been hiding from her. It backfired and turned her into something that wouldn't care what it found. Instead of opening my mind, it closed her heart."

"Oh, geeze," Cally said. Something struck her as a little off that Phoebe was willing to try and read Bel's mind rather than ask him about things, but she didn't mention it.

"I'm sorry. . . you want a hug?"

Bel smiled a little and chuckled. "Demons aren't good with the hugging," he said.

"Well, is there anything I can do?" Cally asked. "Don't want you all glum and stuff."

"Just being here is good," Bel said with a small smile. "And...don't let me do something stupid."

"I'm...willing to do whatever it takes to bring her back," Bel said quietly. "Whatever it takes."

"If Piper can't magic her back human, I think I know someone who can," Bel said. "I'm going to check it out."
