Room 518/520, Wednesday morning

Bel woke up with a groan. He rolled over, trying to will the pounding in his head away. His memory was a little hazy, but he remembered drinking to several uncomfortable questions and kissing Veronica and Bridge.

Right now he felt like he wanted to die. Maybe Piper still had some of that vanquish potion left....

Phoebe whimpered at the movement and then opened her eyes. She quickly closed them as she started remembering certain events of last night.

Cole groaned again, but snuggled closer to Phoebe. Maybe last night was all a bad dream.

Phoebe curled close to Cole, trying to make some memories go away. Wasn't alcohol supposed to give you amnesia or something?

Phoebe tried to shrug everything off, but owie with the sore muscles connected to the throbbing head. "Are you?" she asked softly.

He blinked. Then flailed. "I didn't...I mean, I don't remember...with her!"

Phoebe smiled and then kissed him. "She thinks you're hot," she said with hug.

"Cally and I... we seemed to get uhm..." Phoebe blushed and then looked at him worriedly. "I'm sorry?"

Cole grinned broadly. That part he remembered well. "You don't have to apologize, sweetheart," he said soothingly.

Phoebe nodded. She had enjoyed that part. She picked at the blankets.

"Threesome?" That one did worry her... a bit.

He tensed a little. "I did a lot of things before I met you, Phoebe. Some of them I had no choice. Others I regret."

Phoebe wrapped her arms around him. "Things are different now. No one can make you do anything."

There might have been relief that it hadn't happened with a certain vampire of their acquaintance.

"I know...." He struggled with the words, lowering his gaze. "When I was young, Raynor protected me from the other demons. He withdrew his protection when I got older. Not completely -- he wouldn't let them kill me because he and the Source wanted me alive, but there were plenty of other ways for them to hurt and humiliate me."

She lifted his face so she cold look at him. "None of that was your fault, love," she said softly. "And if I ever see Raynor he and I are going to ahve very strong words... which will end in him becoming ashes."

"If it wasn't for him I'd be dead now," Cole said quietly.

Phoebe nodded. "I know and I'll be sure to thank him before I vanquish him."

"I don't know if I could," Cole admitted. "Vanquish him, I mean. He wasn't like my mother. He protected me and trained me. He was my mentor. My...master."

Phoebe nodded. "That's why you have me," she said quietly. "No one is your master any longer and I have no qualms about vanquishing his ass --- and I'm sure Piper and Paige would help me."

"That's one I better stay out of," Cole said. "Just in case. He can read thoughts, for one thing. He can control the minds of other demons."
