Lana tried to wait calmly as everyone gathered together, but it was hard when she was so worried about Marie.

"We'll find her," Bel said comfortingly.

Lana nodded. "And help her deal with... whatever it is."

Phoebe hugged Lana. "We will. She has us and we'll help her and be there for her."

Lana hugged her back. "We sure will. Nothing could stop us from doing that."

"We love her and we're here for her and we need to make sure she knows that."

Zuko was standing to the side, impatiently tapping his foot and wondering when they were actually going to follow the light thingie and stop idly chatting.

It didn't take an empath to see he was irritated, but Phoebe was picking up on his strong feelings of impatience.

"We'll get going as soon as the rest of the team arrives," she explained.

"Your team is slow," Zuko told her. These teenagers lacked discipline.

Phoebe narrowed her eyes. "My team is getting last minute supplies in case there is any trouble."

Wow, wasn't he arrogant.

Zuko shook his head at the incompetence. "Then they should just catch up with us while we head off. If there's trouble we shouldn't waste any more time." Patience? Not this virtue.

"And us rushing off without proper supplies and precautions could endanger Marie, not to mention others, and cause more trouble."

She shook her head right back at him. It was obvious that he didn't seem to know much about having patience and being prepared for anything that could happen.

Phoebe looked around and then looked back at Zuko. "We leave when Cole says we're ready to leave, and not before. He's organized search parties like this before and he knows what he's doing."

Zuko just sneered. He had plenty of experience at this himself. Sure, it didn't involve actually rescuing someone, but the principle was the same in his mind.

"All right, we've waited long enough," Bel said. "Let's go."

Phoebe just looked back at him, ignoring the sneer. She didn't know Zuko, so she didn't say what she usually would to someone that gave her a look like that.

"We'll be setting out post haste."

"And quietly take aside anyone who gives her a hard time and beat them up."

Phoebe nodded seriously. "Exactly. We don't know what happened, but Marie is one of our own. She's a fellow student and more important than that, she's a very good friend. No one will be allowed to mess with her."
