After Bridge's group had left the lobby, Bel gathered up everyone who remained and any stragglers who walked in late. "Okay, we're going to follow light number two," he said. "Let me just tell everyone that Marie's probably gonna be scared, so don't push her. Don't try to grab her. Really, do not touch her. We just find her and talk to her and convince her everything is okay, got it? If she runs, we follow, but we don't try to scare her anymore than she already is."


[ooc: Note - this post starts in dorms, goes into town, and winds back to the camp . . . which is why it's in Bel's LJ. Wait for OCD!]

"Of course not." Wilson said sympathetically and had to check his natural urge to reach out and give her an understanding touch on the shoulder.

Turning towards Bel to bring him into the conversation, he spoke to both of them.

"Marie, you look all right from what I can diagnose from here. Lucid, alert, no obvious broken bones or bleeding wounds, normal breath signs and her pupils are correct. Physically..." He put gentle emphisis on that word. "She looks okay."

Bel nodded. "Thanks, doc," he said. "I'll take her home from here."

He looked around and addressed the others. "Thanks for your help, everyone. I'm going to shimmer Marie back to the dorms. I'll meet you all back there."

Marie gave him a wary look. "I thought you had to touch me to shimmer," she said.

Bel pondered for a moment, then whipped off his t-shirt and wrapped it around his hand. "See, there," he said. "That'll do the trick."

"But the rest of you," she gestured vaguely.

"You just gotta hold my hand," Bel said. "That's it."

Marie looked worried. "And you'll be really careful?" she asked, not liking the idea of walking all through town back to the dorms.

"Sure," Bel said. "Just grab my hand on and hold real tight. The rest of us doesn't have to touch."

It took Marie a minute or two to decide if she trusted Bel enough to let him touch her.

She finally reached out hesitantly and took his hand, being very careful not to let any skin touch.

Bel gripped Marie's hand tightly through the protection of the shirt, then shimmered them back to the dorms.
