Homecoming

Having decided to go to the homecoming dance after all (instead of brooding in his room, he could brood in a dark corner or something), Belthazor tried to decide what to wear. It was some sort of 80s theme, right? As if he'd get dressed up like that. No, he'd wear his normal clothes.

He wondered if Phoebe would be there. And if she was going with someone.

"You've got that malaise," Angelus said eyes lingering over Bel's muscles so that he could accurately sketch them later. "I can tell. It's the kind of thing only blood can cure. Though I imagine in your case you won't be drinking it."

"Drinking it isn't too bad," Belthazor said absently. "But it doesn't do for me what it does for you. Spilling it, on the other hand, now that's fun."

"That's my boy," Angelus gave Bel a hearty slap on the back. "We should go. This weekend. Get your mind back in the game. "

"Sounds like a plan to me," Belthazor said with a grin. "Now what's this that Johnny's got planned, and where do we get a good seat?"

"Didn't get all the details. I prefer never to ruin another man's artwork. Here put these on - " Angelus handed him a pair of black pants "I know it's Homecoming, I know it involves that pet chemistry project of his, and I know it involves Callisto who I was so not making out with on the Myth & Magic Field Trip, no matter how much it might have looked like that."

Belthazor nodded. "Oh, right, that, I should've know that." He changed into the pants Angelus had picked out. Where was that porn music coming from? "Callisto's in on it with him? She's an interesting one."

"No she isn't," Angelus said, perhaps too quickly. "I mean - whatever. Annoying. But hey, if she's helping Johnny." He tried, and perhaps did not stick the dismount on, a non-chalant shrug.

Belthazor peered at Angelus. Seizing on something to deflect from conversation wandering back to his angst, he asked, "Something you're not telling me?"
