Pangolin Cabin, Tuesday late morning [NFB]

Bel disappeared from behind the Perk in a burst of flames, bringing Angela with him. They reappeared in the common area of the empty Pangolin cabin. It was so quick that Angela didn't have much time to even think of struggling. Bel released her, but remained wearing Marty's form, grinning at her. "Surprise," he said.

"I wouldn't -" Angela started.

And then she just tried to run to the door, knowing she'd probably be caught but not caring. She needed to get away.

Bel grabbed Angela's arm and yanked her back, flinging her back toward the common area couch. "Sit down!" he ordered. "I don't want to hurt you, but I will if you make me."

Angela sat, rubbing her arm and trying to figure out what she would do next. "The demon really got you," she said, not sounding as if she believed it.

"This is what I am now, baby," Bel said, holding his arms out. "You'll learn to like it."

At that, Angela was just sobbing. "Won't," she protested. "Ever."

She would fix him, somehow. She knew she would.

"I'm going to have to leave you here," Bel said. He held up his hand, and light flashed at the door and windows. "It's magically warded, so you can't get out. I'll be back later to see if you've changed your attitude."

"You can't," Angela protested, trying to swallow her fear. "If you love me at all, you can't."

[demonbelthazor]

"Just watch me," Bel said with a cold smile. He disappeared out of the cabin in a burst of flames.

The first thing Angela did was try the windows.

That's a lie. The first thing she did was cry, for a long, long time. Then she tried the windows and doors; none would budge, and the cabin walls were too solid to even think about breaking through.

Then she laid down on a bare mattress in one of the alcoves and, sniffling, stared at the ceiling. She wondered how long it would be before anyone missed her, how long before Marty came back.
