Wilson had his eyes closed, hands holding tightly to Lana's as the sickening sensation of dropping finally stablized and the scent of sulfer was overwhelming.

Slowly he opened his eyes.

"There's... probably a joke about Kansas here...but...that would make one of us Toto."

Lana held onto Wilson equally tightly, absolutely terrified, but determined to do everything she could to help Phoebe.

She looked up at Wilson and managed a smile. "I think I'd look better in the dress and pigtails."

Something about the atmosphere made the hairs on his arms arch and his skin tried to crawl. He didn't know if it was his connection with Aziraphale or simply the fact that he was a mortal in a demonic environment but he definitely felt wrong.

"Come on, let's keep moving." He said softly, sliding towards the wall to keep close to what available cover there might be.

Lana swallowed hard and followed him. This place just felt so wrong. She could feel herself trembling, but tried to cover it so that Dr. Wilson wouldn't know just how scared she was.

Creeping along, Wilson came to an intersection and frowned.

"Damn it...I hate it when vandals steal the street signs." He whispered, using a bit of humor to help try to calm both their nerves.

Or at least distract them from their precarious situation.

Lana smiled a little wanly. She looked both ways and pointed to the right.

"That way, I think," she said. "Solely because it feels hotter and... creepier to me."

"Creepier." Wilson repeated, then gave a small shrug. "As good a reason as any. Let's just hope it's not creepy because that's where they torture people."

And with that jolly little thought, Wilson turned towards the right, slinking along the wall.

"Oh thanks," Lana said as lightly as she could manage. "I was hoping you'd say something nice and reassuring like that." She followed along behind, wondering whether there were rats and spiders and the like down here too.

"Only some prayers I haven't muttered since childhood." He whispered back.

She glanced behind her nervously. "I can already tell I'm going to have some new scenery for my nightmares. Jim will be just thrilled."
