He'd been picking up a certain horniness from someone (had to be Anders), a sudden pain in his head, then fear, and now why did it feel like he was getting drunk?

He groaned and pulled his pillow over his head. They had to do something about this bond. Now.

Phoebe didn't say anything at first, just stepped into his arms and held on.

Cole held her tightly. "Sweetheart, what's wrong?" he said.

"Is it too muc to expect to be able to go on a field trip with y class and not have something happen? Or, any time for that matter? Because, I am so tired of getting kinapped."

"What?" Cole said quietly. "Kidnapped? Who? I'll kill them."

Now that she was safe, Phoebe had no problems with the fact that she was starting to shake. "Mobsters. Kidnapped Pippi, Lana and I after we ate dinner. They wanted to sacrifice us to a demon. They were shown their mistake. They tried to punch Pippi, scared the hell out of Lana, and they hit me in the face twice. The demon they summoned wasn't happy with them and let the three of us beat the hell out of them." Her voice was soft as she held onto him. "I just want to stay here right now, with you. I didn't know if I was going to see you again, Cole. They had guns."

Cole quickly checked Phoebe over to make sure she was all right. "I'll find them," he promised. "I'll take care of them."

Phoebe contemplated very carefully if she was going to tell her overprotective soulmate where the warehouse/mill was that they had been taken to so that he could find the unconscious cultists.

"You can't, love. You don't need to go after humans. Just... stay here with me, please?"

Cole sighed and drew Phoebe toward the bedroom in case the roommates came back. "Dammit, Phoebe, I should've known you were in trouble, but I'm picking up on so many different things from people these days. . . ."

Phoebe nodded, not letting go of him.

"I need to figure out a way to fix that. Something awful could have happened tonight and you would never have known." she swallowed. "I'll talk to Chris and Wyatt when we get back and I'll write a new spell."

Cole nodded, then swayed dizzily for a moment because hello, someone was getting drunk. And possibly fighting. He shook his head, trying to clear it. All he needed now was for Anders to start getting frisky with himself.

"Spell, yes," he said.

Phoebe hung onto him until he steadied himself and looked at him with worry.

"Want me to try writing one now?" It didn't occur to her that with as shaken up as she was and what had almost happened to her, it might not be the best time to work a spell.

"It can wait," Cole assured her. "Someone's just drinking somewhere, I think. Not sure who."

Phoebe nodded. "If you're sure."

Cole drew Phoebe toward the bed. "I'm sure, for now at least," he said. "As long as I know you're safe."

"I'm with you. Safest here."

"Damned straight," Cole growled, drawing her down to snuggle close with him on the bed.

Phoebe snuggled tightly in against him. "Always feel safer when I'm with you," she murmured. "Always want to be with you, too."

"Good," Cole said, "because I'm not letting you go anywhere. Ever again."

Phoebe smiled. "I don't have anywhere I would rather be."

Cole hugged her tightly. "Good," he murmured, pleased.

Phoebe smiled and hugged him. "Hey, I didn't go into the Wastelands and bring you back to life only to not be with you," she teased him.

"Too late to get rid of me now," Cole agreed with a grin.

"I would never want to. Mine."

"Yours," Cole said, kissing her forehead.

Phoebe tilted her head up so that she could give him a better kiss.

"Love you," Cole whispered against her lips.
