Bel had been frozen by Fauxbe's spell for almost two days now.

He was starting to get hungry. The cats were somewhat bemused, but had not yet decided to use him as a scratching post.

"Thanks," Bel said grudgingly. He rolled his neck, trying to work some of the stiffness out. "Where's Phoebe? How long have I been here? What day is it?"

"Friday afternoon, and I don't know and I don't know." Parker sobered a bit and said, "Isabel found out who they are-- some ancestor witch of Lana's and her buddies who got burnt at the stake. Lana was looking at a Special Collections book about her right before this whole mess started. They're after some stones of power and they've been having fun at the expense of half the dorm, I think." She shook her head, and hugged the cat until it miaowed, then set Valkyrie down. " We told Mr. Phale everything, but if she managed to enchant you-- well, you can guess how much we could do against her."

"Dammit," Bel swore. Then he remembered his phone ringing earlier and pulled it out of his pocket to see who had called. Aziraphale. He quickly checked his voice mail. "Phale says we have to destroy the book," he told Parker. "Professor Nishihori has some sort of plan to get them to the cabins."

"Whew. Right. Anything I can do to help?" Parker shook her head. "Aside from play bait. Which isn't one of my better things."

"We need to find out what the plan is," Bel said, starting to pace. "Phale said something about an artifact the ones possessing Phoebe, Lana, and Marie are after. That those stones of power you mentioned?"

Parker nodded. "Isabel's research turned it up. I can't remember the name of it. But the book that probably started this is a Special Collections book. I don't think just getting it back will end the craziness."

"Then we destroy it," Bel said flatly. "I can do it. The school can bill me."

Parker looked dubious, but only said, "And you can tell Ms. Readman, too. But whatever. I'm going to go check on a few people who've been whammied-- including Daisy." She glared at him just on principle there. "Who from what I heard on the Radio, probably isn't having the best day ever."

"Yeah, tell him to start running," Bel said lowly.

Parker reached over and shoved at his arm. "Hey. Possessed witch messing with him. I don't know what happened, and not sure I want to. But if you get a pass for possession by the Source of Evil, then Anders gets one for this mess. I may not be able to stop you, but I will find someone bigger and stronger and more magical than me to kick your ass if you go after him for anything this week."

"Giving him a head start is me giving him a pass," Bel growled. "She didn't force him. He knew what he was doing." At least, that was what he had gathered from what not-Phoebe had told him.

"Witchy Girl and Daisy...? Aghhhh." Parker face-palmed. "He never learns, damnit."

"Right," Bel said. "I told him to keep his hands off her. And he knew what I'd do if I found out. He's got a death wish."

"It was one time and you were dead, damnit. Do you always have to be such a putz?" Parker demanded. "Fine. I'm telling him to hide. You go deal with the Trio of Doom. And if you run into them in person? Tell the Lana-bitch that if she'd been as smart as she thought, then she would've taken out me and Isabel before she messed with our friends. I won't send the photo to Angel if you do."

"Wasn't dead this time," Bel muttered. "And I'll pass along your message. Right before I vanquish all three of their asses straight to hell."

"Works for me," Parker said, heading for the door, then paused, and shot back, "And Bel? You have cat-hair. Byeee."

Bel glared and brushed himself off as Parker left, then began trying to figure out his next move to save Phoebe, Lana, and Marie. Dealing with Anders would have to wait.
