Suite 518/520, Monday morning

Despite not having class until fourth period, Bel was up earlier, waiting for Isabel to come by. He'd fed the cats, made breakfast, and was now lounging on the couch, flipping through the channels on the TV until he found Enchanted reruns. The fact that it was the vampire episode didn't influence his decision to stay on that channel, not at all.

Alanna rolled her eyes. "Want me to add him to my 'to slap' list? I don't remember why half the people are on it anyway."

"Slap away," Bel said. "So you gonna tell me why I was on the list or have you forgotten that, too?"

Alanna took a moment to consider the question. "I think there was a bit about me getting to play fetch with a tongue because you got yourself possessed and then killed." She paused. "I think things kinda blured there. Oh! And you made me worry! And you're a guy!"

"Fair enough," Bel said, ducking his head. "I deserve worse. Except for the guy part, because I happen to like that."

"It was mostly not your fault." Alanna pointed. "Except the guy part, totally your fault there."

"That was my parents' fault," Bel said.

Alanna's lips twitched. "That and the nose."

"Hey!" Bel said. "There's nothing wrong with my nose."

"It's funny looking." Alanna said with a totally straight face.

"Now you're just being mean," Bel said, putting on a pouty face.

Alanna looked totally innocent. "Faithful, doesn't his nose look funny?" Faithful gave her a look that questioned her general intelligence.

Bel eyed Alanna. "Yeah, and you're flat as a board," he snickered.

"For what?" Bel said. "Passing as a boy, maybe, but that's about it."
