Bel paced the East Attic, waiting for people to arrive. He'd called up several people hoping they could help him tonight.

This was it. He had already betrayed the Underworld, but if he rescued Phoebe and fought his mother, there would be no turning back, ever.

"Thanks," Bel said gratefully again. "She doesn't know you're you, by the way. Angel, I mean. She thinks you're still...him."

"Oh," Angel said, growing quiet. "You think that's something we could use to our advantage?"

Bel shrugged. "I don't know, but I just figured I should warn you so you weren't caught off guard or anything if she decides to talk to you."

"Play it by ear then," Angel said, his expression and tone ambiguous as to how he felt about that possibility.

"She thinks all vampires are treacherous anyway. It's probably your fault I turned out to be a bad seed." Bel grinned just a little.

"I always did aspire to be a bad influence on you."

"She may target you if she blames you," Bel said in more sober warning. "Or she may not care. Hard to tell with her."

"Her powers same as yours?"

"Mostly, but she's much better at magic than me. She's a lot better with TK, too," Bel said. "She prefers spells that emotional effects like fear."

Angel didn't look worried. "I know fear. I'm used to it. What are her weak spots?"

Bel lowered his voice. "Vanquish potion. Piper has it. It's made from my blood."

"We all getting a vial of it?" Angel asked.

[demonbelthazor]

"It's not really something I want to put in everyone's hands," Bel said, "since it will kill me if it hits me, too. But we only had ingredients for one, and I didn't want to donate too much blood or I'd be useless." He pressed his hand to the bandage covering the slash on his arm.

"Fair enough," Angel said. "Who's got it?"

"Piper's got it right now. She's one of the people I'll trust with it. Her or you."

"What else?" Angel asked. "I know it's hard to kill her, but what hurts more than others?"

"Sharp pointy things in the gut will slow her down," Bel said. "She's like me, only stronger because she's a full demon."

"Is she faster?"

"A little bit, yeah," Bel said.
