Suite 518/520, Friday night

Since Phoebe had gone to bed early, Bel hung out in the living room of their suite, idly flipping through the channels on the TV and contemplating his courses from that week. Pop Culture would be useful for understanding some of the phrases and references his classmates made that went over his head. Criminal Justice was interesting so far. It kinda went with the hero thing. He'd survived Hunting 101 and Ethics unscathed, and was now considering adding a fifth class; he'd talk to Phale on Monday about adding Prophecy. Never knew when that kind of knowledge might come in handy, particularly with a prophetic girlfriend.

He was feeling an almost distressing need to impress his teachers, two in particular. He idly contemplated ways to do this as he continued to flip though the channels.

He should probably tell Phoebe his plans for Saturday night at some point, too.

"I like blue," Anders grumbled. "Conner looks better in red than I do . . . hey, you were totally looking!"

"You were wriggling right in front of me, how could I miss it?" Bel said.

"Every time I turned my head you were right there!" Bel said.

"What can I say? I've got skills." That smirk? Totally designed to be maddening.

"Maybe you've got a new career ahead of you," Bel said, smirking right back. "Next time try a striptease and see how many one dollar bills you can make."

"Ones, hell. Twenties," snorted Anders. "As if I'd strip in public in this school ever again. Sorry, dude, you're out of luck there."

Bel snapped his fingers. "Damn. I can't tell you how disappointed I am."

"Need a tissue for those emo tears there?" Anders asked dryly.

"Should've known you'd be carrying them around like a girl," Bel shot back.

Anders snorted. "Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not your tissue-carrying bitch."

"Then what kind of bitch are you?" Bel asked. His smirk grew bigger if it was all possible.

"Only one way to find out," Anders retorted, making a show out of stretching and putting his hands behind his head.

"That an invitation then?" Bel said.

"Like you'd take it if it was," scoffed Anders.

"You wouldn't survive it is I did," Bel said. "Well, at least not survive and be able to walk again."

"Big talk. Too bad you'll never back it up."

"You'll have to learn to live with disappointment," Bel said. "What do you have that could possibly lure me away from my girlfriend?"

"You'll never find out, then, will you? Wow, I'm so devastated." Anders mockingly traced the path of an imaginary tear down the side of his face.

"Play with a demon and you're likely to get hurt," Bel said, smirking. "And I'm trying to be good now, so I can't have that on my conscience."

"What? Me getting hurt? Awww. I always knew you cared," Anders replied with a smirk of his own.

"Your dream come true, huh?" Bel said. He may have taken a step forward.

"Yeah, because all this time I've just been hanging on in the vain hope that you'd notice me," Anders said dryly.

"That why you agreed so easily to put on a dress?" Bel asked. "Hoping I'd rip it off you later?"
