The Source had been enjoying himself.

After dealing with Cally, he'd felt the need to create a little chaos and confusion. He'd seized on the opportunity to kidnap Angela and torment her before letting Marty know where she was, arranging things perfectly to sow some discord in their relationship.

(Actually, he reflected, he should thank Marty. If he hadn't stripped Belthazor's powers, it wouldn't have been nearly so easy to possess him.)

On top of that, there were rumors that Bridge and Z were missing. While he wasn't responsible for that, that particular incident threw some more confusion into the mix.

Currently, Bel wasn't up to no good; instead, he was puzzling over the emails he'd suddenly gotten from Xander.

Phoebe tightened her arms around him. "My demon," she said. She had never gotten out of calling him that, even though he was human now. "I never want you to let me go, love."

"Not a chance," he murmured. Belthazor wanted the witch, so the Source wanted her, too. She would be his queen and rule the Underworld beside him.

"That's good to know," she said as she kissed him. She pulled back for a moment. "You'll be at Caritas tonight as usual?"

"Of course," he said. "I'm your personal bouncer."

She laughed softly. "I don't think I'm ever in danger there, but it is nice knowing you're there just in case anything were to happen."

"I just want you to be safe," he said. "Especially if there's a demon running around out there."
