Suite 518/520, Thursday morning/early afternoon

The X-Men had returned Bel and Phoebe and the others to Fandom late last night. Bel was still a little freaked out about seeing Kitty, but it was good to be home. His body was stiff and sore and bruised from the fighting at the Statue of Liberty, and he welcomed the chance to sleep in his own bed again. He wasn't, however, particuarly looking forward to the questions and accusations that were probably waiting for him, and he lingered in bed come morning, dreading getting up.

But Marie was safe, and that was what mattered. He'd deal with everything else as it came.

That perked Bel up a little. "How much?" he said, reaching for his wallet.

Nadia considered this. She hadn't thought that Bel would, you know, take her up on it. ". . . How much you got?"

What? She was still a little bit annoyed at Marty for not telling her anything.

Bel peered into his wallet. "Ummm, eighteen dollars and seventy-two cents," he confirmed. "But I can get more. Maybe."

"Well, normally, I'd say fifty bucks, but he is kind of like a brother to me. So let's say . . . $30 and a sparring session?" Because she still wanted to make sure he knew how to fight without throwing fireballs.

Bel nodded. "Sounds fair to me." He handed a ten dollar pill to Nadia. "Here's a down payment."

Nadia grinned, already working out if she should pad the mallet or let Marty in on the deal or not. Hey, if she gave him half, he might let her do it. "Pleasure doing business, Bel. I'll let you know when my shoulder's ready for a spar."

Bel nodded. "I won't be around at all this weekend," he said. "Going to Alanna's home with her for a special event. Just so you don't think someone vanquished me if you don't see me around."

"Good to know. Next week, then, if I don't see you, should I panic then?" she said it with a smile, but it was a half-serious question. If he didn't know what he was capable of handling, he could be in trouble. "Well, I'll stop bothering you now."

Bel gave her a half-smile. "Yeah, you can panic then, and start looking for the body. Start with Marty's room, or the Winchesters." Then, more seriously, he added, "Thanks for coming by."

"No problem. See you around, Bel. Have fun at Alanna's thingy."
