Angelus knocks on the door. "Anybody home?"

Belthazor opens the door. "So, do you need an invite per room, or is the whole building covered?"

"Per room, unless Principal Connor swung something in my favor," Angelus says. "'course, you live here and you're a demon, so there goes Linds's ability to pretend I can't kill him in his sleep."

"By all means, come in," Belthazor says with a chuckle. "Lindsey isn't around but he may show up eventually."

Angelus took out a notebook he'd kept tucked under his arm. He flipped through the pages. Sketches of a blond girl took up most of the pages, but then he found what he was looking for.

"Okay, I'm thinking we all agree that good guys are retarded," Angelus said, "and some of them didn't exactly read the sign for content. So we need to weed out the ones we want, the ones we don't want, and the ones we want to use up until they're dry and throw away the carcass that remains."

Belthazor tries discretely to catch a glance of the drawings. Interesting....

"Sounds like a plan to me. So who do we got?"

"I figure let's start with the ones I've got good feelings about," Angelus says. "By which I mean, folks who I don't think are going to run screaming at the idea of killing people just to see the look on their face."

Angelus took out some of the notebook pages and held up sheets that had rough sketches of faces, along with notes jotted down along the side. "Number one: Draco Malfoy. Introduces himself by talking about how he rose the dead to kill people. You can't tell me you don't admire that kind of dedication."

Angelus turns a page. He holds up another sketch. "Number two, oatmanspatient. Strikes me as minion material, but on the other hand cheerfully told me his job is professional killer."

"We'd have to keep an eye on that one," Belthazor muses. "Could sell us out for money if he's for sale. But I do like killers."

"Good call. I knew I liked the way you thought," Angelus makes a note of that next to the sketch. "On the other hand, he said he didn't like meetings. So possibly we deal with that by not telling him more than we have to."

"We've got two possible white hats in the mix," Angelus says. He holds up pictures of positive_angel and lauraholt. "I don't trust either of 'em, but we could maybe use them. This one - " he points to positive_angel " - might be useful if we ever need somebody to lie to the faculty for us. And this one - " he points to lauraholt " - says she's not against doing some spywork. My gut says good guys but maybe dangle them along? Take advantage of them while inviting them to no meetings?"

"Don't know 'em but I trust your instincts," Belthazor says. "Let 'em think they're with us but only feed them information we want to get out."

"What about our faculty advisor?" he adds. "What's her story?"

"Dunno," Angelus shrugs. "Said she was into taking over the world, plus we needed one for it to count as a real club. Figured no harm in saying yes. Worst case scenario, we don't tell her about meetings either."

Angelus grows thoughtful. "You know... the more I think about it the more I think we've got two clubs going here. The first is the definites: the ones we know are evil and we trust to be evil. We'll call 'em the club officers. Everybody else is everybody else. Maybe we like 'em, maybe we don't, but they only get invited to the meetings we'll admit to the faculty. If they prove themselves they get upgraded to officer and we teach 'em the secret handshake."

He looks at the both of them. "What do you think?"

"Sounds good to me," Belthazor says. "Call it a testing period. They prove themselves, they're in."

"Exactly," Angelus starts to underline the names of the definites. "And in the meanwhile, we get started with our 'officers' and get the true work of the club going. I'm thinking we call a meeting tomorrow night. Club officers only. I'll email 'em to let them know. I'll tell the rest hey, thanks for joining, yadda yadda, we're dealing with administrative bullshit but I'll keep you posted. Then, once we've got the core group down, we move on to dealing with the others. Put on a good show for the faculty and everything."

"I'll get on it," Angelus says. He shows them the list of the remaining names. "Everybody else reads like a probie at best. My gut's not to trust, but I'd hate to kick anybody out who could be useful.

"What pisses me off," Angelus continues, gesturing with his cigarette, "is that I know we've got more potential around here and they're just not showing up. Like this Luthor guy I've heard about. We could use someone like him. Especially since Logan turned out to be a pussy."

"Good plan. Let me know when and where and I'll be there." Belthazor stands up. "And in the meantime, I'm going to try to find a moment of true happiness of my own," he adds with a predatory grin.

Angelus checks his watch. "Yeah, I got a date with Faithy once we're done. It's not perfect happiness, but who needs that when you've got leather?"

"Leather, huh? Definitely sounds like my type of girl. I don't think I need to tell you to have a good time."
